In Kenya and Africa, the pork sector has continued to grow, resulting in new products and end applications as well as several economic prospects. Africa, on the other hand, continues to be a net importer of swine meat. Pork and pork products worth an estimated $295 million were imported into Africa in 2012. Three major reasons are projected to drive the future of the African pork industry: Increased income, since seven of the ten fastest-growing economies in the world during the next five years are in Africa; and urbanization, with over half of the population, predicted to reside in cities by 2050.   Pork is largely made up of protein, much like other meats. By fresh weight, lean, cooked pork has a protein content of about 26%. When it is dried, lean pork has up to 89 percent protein, making it one of the most protein-dense foods on the market. It contains all nine necessary amino acids that your body needs to grow and maintain it. Meat is one of the most comprehensive sources of
